About Millfield
Village life in Millfield goes back to the 1850s: its post office opened in 1854 and the public school followed in 1868. The Rising Sun Inn on Wollombi Road, now a museum, is heritage-listed, as is the former Crawfordville School on Bennett Street, which ran from 1929 to 1970. St Luke's Anglican Church dates from 1880.
