About Bonnells Bay
Until 1948 this part of the peninsula east of Morisset went by the name Morisset East. It now carries the name of the Bonnell family, William F. Bonnell in particular, who first settled most of what became Bonnells Bay, along with parts of what are now Morisset Park and Windermere Park. The bay on its Lake Macquarie foreshore shares the family name.
